WHO European Healthy Cities

The WHO European Healthy Cities Network movement supports European member cities to become healthier and more equitable places to live.

In its 7th iteration, the Network prioritises the important role that local governments have in wellbeing through “one health” whole-of-government approaches. The National Healthy Cities & Counties of Ireland Network is a member of the European Healthy Cities Network and is a collaboration of stakeholders involving government departments, agencies, local authorities, political representatives, HSE and delivery partners.

The Healthy Ireland Local Government National Office are currently supporting the cities of Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Waterford to become WHO accredited Healthy Cities.
